We need your help with concessions on Friday, October 16, from 5 to 10 PM! This is our only home football game of the year that the Band will host, and it’s going to be a big one: Homecoming, a Band Takeover of the field, and a game against Fallbrook with a playoff spot on the line.

Concessions are an important fundraiser for the Band Boosters, so we need plenty of volunteers to help make the night a success. Please take a look at the signup and grab a shift if you can!

It’s October, and that means we are officially in the heart of tournament season! The season really starts to fly by from here, with tournaments, performances, fundraisers and special events all packed into the next handful of weeks.

Please continue to keep an eye on the Band App and your email for important updates and reminders. You can also visit rbvband.org anytime for a current calendar, event information and other band resources.  Dates and times may change.

A Few More Updates & Details

Show Shirts are here!  Your order will be available for pick up starting Thursday 10/8 at the bake sale. Any orders not picked up, will be left at the band room office for students.

The bake sale is a great excuse to come hang out at the field! One of the best parts of marching band season is watching the show change and grow from week to week. Stop by, grab a treat, pick up your band merch, and watch rehearsal. See how far the students have come in just one week.

Scholarships are Open Again

The City of Vista Scholarship is open this month for new applications. This is FREE money for your student.  If you qualify, those funds will apply directly to your student's suggested donation amount.  You should have all received an invoice and statement for that suggested donation amount.  If you need a fresh copy, please email treasurer@rbvband.org.   APPLY HERE

Paying Your Student's Suggested Donation Amount

If you do not qualify for a scholarship, we ask that you please consider making a contribution toward your student’s suggested donation amount. The Band Boosters rely on individual contributions to help provide the programs, experiences and resources our students need and enjoy throughout the year.

We are happy to accept donations of any amount, at any time. You can make a one time donation or set up monthly payments. For example, $65 per month through June will cover the total suggested donation of $650.

Does your employer offer a donation or donation match?  Many employers may match you dollar for dollar, or have funds up for grabs for your student's extracurricular activities.  Marching band is a youth sport!

These funds help cover coaching, show and competition entry fees, ongoing instrument and equipment repairs and replacements, and the many other expenses involved in providing our students with an enriching and rewarding band experience.  They also cover just a portion of the total estimated $1700-1800 per student to keep the program running.

With district, school and grant support subject to change from year to year, contributions are an important part of keeping the program strong. If you have not yet contributed this year, please consider starting now.  It is never too late.

Every contribution, regardless of amount, makes a difference.

Bandcoming Update Bandcoming is typically held in October, but we are currently working on rescheduling it due to the timing of Halloween and Día de los Muertos. We will share the new date as soon as plans are finalized.  For new parents, Band has the tradition of it's own homecoming dance. This year, that dance will be later than usual.

Senior Night October 16th Senior parents, please be on the look out for a separate email with information about Senior Night.

Middle School Night October 16th Middle School Night is for students who are not currently members of the marching band and may be interested in joining in the future. Visiting middle schoolers will be marching out to the field with the band, sitting in the stands and participating in pep songs.  If your middle school student is already a member of the marching band, they will participate with the band as usual.

Trunk or Treat October 29th All band parents are invited to participate! Every year, the students spend their last practice before Halloween in costume while parents and Boosters set up in the student parking lot to hand out candy and other treats.

Decorate your trunk, bring some candy or a potluck item, put on a costume and come join us. It’s always a fun way to end the month and give the kids a chance to celebrate together.  There are no formal sign ups for this, just join in!

Cookie Dough Fundraiser Our next big fundraiser is coming up later this month! Students will receive information and fundraising materials as we get closer. We will have about one week to sell as much cookie dough as possible, so keep an eye out for the information.

Thank you for continuing to support our students through this busy part of the season. There is a lot happening this month and next, but it is also one of the most exciting times of the year. We hope to see you out at the field, at the tournaments and at our upcoming events!
