Rancho Buena Vista High School or "RBV" is a California Distinguished School and International Baccalaureate Organization World School, located in Vista, California.

Opened in September 1987, Rancho Buena Vista High School, often shortened locally to "RBV", "Rancho" or "The Ranch", is a comprehensive, public, secondary school in the Vista Unified School District. The school's mascot is the Longhorn, the Texas Longhorn Cattle. Among the largest schools in San Diego County, with over 2,800 enrolled students, with a diverse student population in grades 9-12, Rancho Buena Vista High is one of the 572 World Schools in the United States (as of January 2008) offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.  Chuck Schindler is currently the school principal.

Rancho Buena Vista Band and Pageantry, also started its rich history in distinguished Longhorn Tradition, in 1987.  In the dirt fields of a new campus and borrowing practice time from nearby Vista High School - the program began, destined to be one of the greats.

Rancho Buena Vista Band and Color Guard has consistently earned superior ratings at district festivals as well as numerous Sweepstakes awards at Marching Band Competitions. In addition to being invited to perform at the CBDA convention today, the band has been invited to several other conferences including the CMEA southern border section winter convention in Point Loma and the BOA national concert band festival in Indianapolis. RBV music students are consistently represented in the CBDA All-State Honor Band, the SCSBOA All-Southern Honor Band, the University of Arizona Junior/Senior Southwest Honor Band and the San Diego Civic Youth Orchestra.

Most recently the band was invited to perform in the Bands of America National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis as the only High School Band from the state of California.

In 2006, RBV Wind Ensemble was selected as a guest performer at the California Band Director's Association State Convention. During that same year, world famous composer David Maslanka was commissioned to write a piece for RBV High Wind Ensemble.
